BEHIND | Discovering Benin with Fif Tobossi

Franco-Beninese, having grown up between France and summers spent in his homeland, Fif Tobossi opens the doors to his "inner Benin": the places that shaped him, the people who inspire him, those who have seen him evolve. A sensitive journey through memory, attachment, and commitment.

Throughout his career, marked by a gradual reconnection with his roots, he now develops cultural projects in Benin in collaboration with local institutions, including the French Institute of Benin, to help bring forth stories, spaces, and dynamics rooted in the territory.

This interview is part of our series produced for Vodun Days (January 8–10, 2026), designed to highlight the diversity of Benin's cultural scenes, including contemporary creation, heritage, and diasporic trajectories.

A film like a return, and like a starting point.
