A Photo Recap of the 2026 FĂŞte de la Musique
June 25, 2026
“Home for me is French Guiana, but it’s also somewhere else. And I think it’s also inside me.”
What does it mean to return when you’ve grown up far from your homeland? How do you reclaim a place you’ve long imagined before actually living there?
In *Le Fleuve*, her fanzine published by Éditions Revers, photographer Nathyfa Michel chronicles her return to French Guiana, five years after moving there for what was supposed to be a one-month stay.
Drawing on family memories, imagination, and a search for a sense of belonging, she crafts a narrative in which photography becomes a tool for exploring connections to the land and redefining what it means to be “at home.”
