In this final episode, Smaïl Kanouté opens the doors of his residence at the Consulat Voltaire, where he welcomes Renee Gusman and Marwan Pleasant, two Black Indians from New Orleans, to Paris. Over two days, the six of them put together a performance combining song, percussion, and ritual dance, a vibrant tribute to African-American heritage and the power of tradition.
On June 17, at the MC93 – Maison de la Culture de Seine-Saint-Denis, this adventure will take its final form: an original stage production, followed by the screening of a documentary retracing the entire genesis of the project.
A final breath, a celebration, an embodied memory.
