On Thursday December 4, MansA welcomes Lucia Maori, DJ and former member of the Sahel Sound label and collective, for an exploration of the musical landscapes of the Sahel and their contemporary transformations.

For this new Soundtrack, Lucia Maori invites the public to explore the evolution of traditional music from the Sahel, revealing the multiple sonic reliefs that make up this territory. Through a selection of listenings and commentaries, she will trace the passage from acoustic traditions to contemporary electronic sounds, showing how these musical heritages continue to reinvent themselves over the generations.

From the roots of Tuareg blues and rock to the emblematic rhythms of Mali's Balani Show, this session will shed light on how Sahelian artists have always shaped their music in dialogue with the spaces they have traversed, the political contexts and technological innovations.
