As part of the France-Brazil Season, MansA joins forces with Lille3000 for an exceptional evening at Maison Folie Wazemmes, on 13 September 2025, marking the closing of the Baile Funk: un cri de liberté exhibition.
After its presentation at the Museu de Arte do Rio, the FUNK exhibition has found a second life at Lille's Maison Folie Wazemmes, giving voice to the history of a musical and social movement born on the outskirts of Rio. To celebrate its closing, the evening will bring together artists and audiences around the richness of Carioca funk.
Margaux 59000 and Kali Kalité will kick off the night on the decks. From Rio, DJ Kbral will deliver a set retracing the major stages of baile funk, from its hi-fi origins to the contemporary sounds of the favelas. The evening will close with a concert by Deize Tigrona, a key figure in Carioca funk and one of the first voices from Rio's black suburbs to achieve international recognition.
