To kick off its new film series, MansA is hosting a family screening of the animated film *Vanille*, directed by Guillaume Lorin. This colorful modern fairy tale takes viewers of all ages on a journey to the heart of Guadeloupe, where lush nature, imagination, and tradition come together. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
Fresh off the boat in Guadeloupe, her mother’s native island, young Vanille discovers a world that is as exotic as it is fascinating. Between the rainforest, unexpected encounters, and local legends, her vacation quickly takes on the air of an adventure. The discovery of a mysterious magical flower draws her into a tale that blends imagination, nature, and Caribbean traditions.
The event will continue with refreshments and a discussion with the director, Guillaume Lorin.
Born in Guadeloupe in 1985, Guillaume Lorin grew up surrounded by nature and local folklore. After graduating from high school, he studied animation in Paris and Luxembourg, then worked for various studios. He resumed his studies at the École de La Poudrière, where he honed his skills as a director and gave free rein to his Caribbean imagination. This was followed by several projects atFolimageandCartoon Saloon, before he went on to direct his first short film,Vanille, a modern fairy tale inspired by his native island.
