On Monday, April 13, MansA is hosting a CinéMansA evening in Fort-de-France, an event dedicated to contemporary cinema and Caribbean visual storytelling, featuring screenings of short films and discussions with the audience.

Organized in collaboration with La Station Culturelle, this event is part of an effort to support filmmaking and foster opportunities for dialogue among artists, students, and the public.

The screening will be followed by a discussion moderated by Steve Zébina, providing an opportunity to explore the themes addressed in the films in greater depth and to spark a conversation about creative practices in the Caribbean region.

This event also has an educational component, with the active involvement of students in the audiovisual BTS program at Lycée Victor-Schœlcher, who will help organize the event by handling reception duties, screening the film, and moderating the discussion.

ABOUT

From April 13 to 18, 2026, MansA will travel to Martinique and Guadeloupe for its first initiative in the Caribbean territories. This trip is part of MansA’s commitment to supporting contemporary creation by fostering encounters between artists, researchers, and cultural actors from—or connected to—the French overseas departments and regions (DROM-COM). The goal: to support local initiatives while positioning them within a framework of exchange, networking, and international outreach.

In Martinique, this week will provide an opportunity to build bridges between local stakeholders and those in the diaspora, to foster exchanges among entrepreneurs, artists, and institutions, and to highlight innovative initiatives. In collaboration with La Station Culturelle, we will open a space for collective reflection on key questions: How can we strengthen cultural exchange and optimize the dissemination of works from the Caribbean to the international stage? How can we mobilize diaspora and international networks to promote the Caribbean art scene? What synergies can be created between artists, entrepreneurs, and organizations to overcome financial and logistical challenges?

A week to think, create, and take action together, drawing on the strengths of local communities and the richness of their networks.
