For this session, dive into the heart of La vie en noir.e, a documentary series from LSD – La série documentaire (France Culture), created by Sébastien Thème. Through personal stories, analysis, and key encounters, the series explores the Black experience in France. For this event, Sébastien Thème will be in conversation with Christelle Murhula to discuss the origins of the podcast, his intentions, and the themes that run through it. The discussion will be punctuated by excerpts from the podcast, opening up exchanges on assignment, memory, love, family, and colonial heritage. A time for listening, reflection, and sharing, confronting the collective imagination with reality and giving voice to stories that are too often invisible.
With Sébastien Thème, journalist and documentary filmmaker. He has collaborated with France Télévisions, ARTE, and Radio France, and is the author of Qui a peur d’Angela Davis ? (Who's Afraid of Angela Davis?) (2023) and La Vie en Noir.e (Life in Black) for LSD on France Culture. He is currently guest editor-in-chief of the first issue of MansA Magazine.
