A grand finale with a unique journey of dance and music. On May 23rd, the first part of PERIFEERIA will reach its climax with an explosive evening that brings together the dances, beats, and visions from the Brazilian and French peripheries.
This Friday, May 23, the BR-55 highway traced in our imaginations will reach its peak. After three days of echoing the voices, rhythms, and imaginations of the Brazilian and French peripheries, we will take the last turn of this symbolic journey initiated for the France-Brazil Season. On the asphalt of our Afro-Brazilian epic, a final celebration is taking shape, at the heart of this black, Brazilian, joyful, and resilient culture that has guided us.

The evening kicks off at 7:30pm with a free open-air dance class open to all. Participants will be invited to discover two emblematic choreographic styles: passinho, an urban dance born in the Brazilian favelas, and voguing, which originated in African-American LGBTQ+ ballrooms. This collective session will offer a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in these artistic universes and celebrate freedom of expression through movement.

As night falls, Dock B will be transformed into a giant baile funk, a party dedicated to Brazilian funk in all its forms. DJs from France and Brazil will rock the walls with eclectic sets mixing rap, R&B, afrobeat, baile funk, UK garage and other diasporic sounds. The night will pay tribute to the creative power of the margins, and to partying as a space for freedom and emancipation.
