In February, MansA is dedicating a weekend to the launch of Relooted, an Afrofuturist narrative action video game that questions the restitution of African artworks and the role of museums.

To mark the launch of Relooted, MansA is opening its doors for an immersive weekend dedicated to discovering this video game and discussing the issues of restitution it raises. The event, organized with the game's creators, will offer the opportunity to discover it live, discuss it, and listen to its soundtrack in a friendly atmosphere.

About Relooted

At the end of the 21st century, a transatlantic treaty promises the return of looted African artworks. But when the rules change and only objects on public display are affected, many museums choose to hide their collections. Faced with this diplomatic impasse, a new form of action emerges.

The player assembles a team of ordinary citizens from different African countries, plans infiltration operations, organizes escape routes, and recovers artifacts of immense cultural, historical, and spiritual value. The 70 objects featured in the game actually exist and are at the heart of contemporary debates on restitution.

Through gameplay, Relooted offers a thought-provoking reflection on memory, cultural justice, and the reappropriation of narratives, affirming video games as a medium in their own right for questioning history and its challenges.
