Over the course of a weekend, MansA welcomes Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté for three performances of his solo piece *Humming-Bird / Colibri*, as well as a special masterclass open to everyone.

On Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, MansA welcomes Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté for three performances of his solo piece *Humming-Bird / Colibri*, the highlight of this artistic weekend, complemented by a masterclass open to everyone.

A poetic journey inspired by the hummingbird

It is said of the multicolored hummingbird that it faces every obstacle with perseverance and draws its strength from paying close attention to every detail. Drawing on this legend, Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté weaves a dialogue between myth and fragments of his own story.

Through movement that is both abstract and intensely evocative, he creates a choreographic style in which physical presence meets a sensitive, poetic world. Humming-Bird / Colibri thus becomes a dance meditation on each person’s place in the world—and on our ability to contribute, in our own small way, to the flourishing of all beings and our environment.

A masterclass to explore his choreographic style

In conjunction with the performances, the choreographer will lead an introductory workshop on his artistic style, which blends contemporary dance with traditional Ivorian dance forms.

The workshop will invite participants to explore a fluid, embodied process of self-expression, developing a personal voice while drawing on the energy of the group.

With Abdoulaye Trésor Konaté, an Ivorian dancer and choreographer, founder and artistic director of the ATeKa Cie dance company (Strasbourg). His choreographic approach blends influences from traditional African dance, contemporary dance, and poetic movement, exploring autobiographical, spiritual, and social themes. He was the first recipient of the City of Cannes award for an arts and cultural education project, and was named Chevalier d’or de la danse in Côte d’Ivoire by the Ivorian Dance Federation in collaboration with the CNAC.
