When the words of Faïza Guène meet the memory of Taos Amrouche
The voices of two women, two eras, two heritages respond to each other. For this first edition ofEn résonance, Faïza Guène brings her writing into dialogue with Taos Amrouche's Le Grain magique, weaving a link between oral memory and contemporary creation, between ancient tales and today's realities.

For this first edition of the En résonance cycle, MansA invites Faïza Guène to an original literary dialogue with Le Grain magique (© Librairie Maspero / Editions La Découverte, Paris, 1966, 1996, 2007), a collection of Kabyle tales handed down by the novelist and singer Taos Amrouche.
Through a reading of previously unpublished texts, the author of Kiffe kiffe demain will explore the power of women's voices, transmitted narratives and popular imaginary worlds that still nourish contemporary literature today.
Between literature and music
Selected texts from Le Grain magique will be accompanied by Nawel Ben Kraïem, a Franco-Tunisian artist who blends chanson, slam and poetry. Known for her singular voice and powerful lyrics, she has released several albums, including Mama Please (2009), Navigue (2016) and Par mon nom (2019).
Her musical universe, at the crossroads of languages and cultures, will extend this encounter with her vibrant breath.
Faïza Guène is a novelist and screenwriter. Born in France to an Algerian family, she published Kiffe kiffe demain (2004) at the age of 19, a novel that has become an icon and has been translated into over 25 languages. Her work aptly explores questions of identity, transmission and everyday life, in a vivid, poetic language.
Nawel Ben Kraïem is a singer, poet and performer. Her deep, mixed voice, stage presence and committed writing make her one of the most sensitive figures on the contemporary Franco-Tunisian scene.
En résonance is a literary cycle proposed by MansA. Every two months, an author chooses an outstanding work, whether or not from the African world, and places it in dialogue with another art form. A lively exploration of the links between literature, memory and creation.
