For this first edition of the Book Club, Maïram Guissé will present Sous nos peauxher latest book, published by Grasset on October 22. An intimate and collective investigation, in which she gives a voice to the black women around her, blending their voices with her own, between confidences, memories and tales of everyday resistance.

Maïram Guissé is a journalist at Le Parisien and a documentary filmmaker(L'amour en cité, Quartiers d'été, La vie de ma mère). Here, she continues her work of listening to and telling the stories of those who have long been neither seen nor heard.

The meeting will be hosted by Christelle Murhula, journalist and author ofAmours silenciées (éditions Daronnes, 2022), a specialist in cultural and societal issues. The evening will continue with a musical performance by Anaïs Rosso, followed by a DJ set by DJ Cheetah, in a convivial atmosphere open to discussion.

Every month, the MansA Book Club invites an author to present a work of literature or humanities, to share behind-the-scenes stories, inspirations and contemporary echoes.
